Thought for Thursday - The Ultimate Sacrifice

As we approach the Memorial Day Weekend, our country will take time out to remember those individuals who sacrificed their lives in military service. During my most recent trip to Washington DC, I captured some photos of the many memorials that are located in our capital city. These memorials serve as a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice that these individuals paid with their lives.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that is prone to war and violence. Many people used to talk about world peace, but you rarely hear those words uttered these days. Not only is there war abroad, but we experience conflict within our own borders.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is quoted as saying ‘life isn’t worth living until you have found something to die for.’ The deceased military personnel obviously believed in the causes for which they fought to the point that they were willing to die. What about you, are you willing to die for anything in life?
